The two-time UFC bantamweight titleholder was awarded the “For Merit to the Fatherland” medal during a ceremony inside the Kremlin. Dana White shares first public statement since assisting US ballerina’s release from Russian prison

After assisting in the release of a US ballerina from a Russian prison, Dana White has issued his first public statement. Ksenia Karelina went public when she was arrested and thrown into a Russian jail for treason . Karelina was found guilty of the crime after she allegedly donated money to a charity that later went on to fund war equipment for Ukraine. Karelina was set to serve 12 years in prison before Dana White, with the aid of US President Donald Trump , helped the ballerina get released.

Though, according to Dana White, Vladimir Putin gave Khabib an extra incentive to beat the Irishman. Being two of the biggest names in the sport, Khabib and McGregor understandably combined for the highest pay-per-view buys in UFC history. Headlining UFC 229, the lightweights allegedly sold 2.4 million PPV buys, which trumps the 1.6 million of the second-highest MMA event. During an appearance on the Games with Names podcast, Dana White opened up on the past feud between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. “That was a big one for us,” White said.

Vladimir Putin and the Russian People One such topic being the contrast between people in the United States, and those in his home country of Russia. More specifically, Bet-David asked “The Eagle” why Russian president Vladimir Putin is so beloved by the Russian people. The former lightweight king explained that it more so has to do with how little it takes to make the Russian people happy.

Everyone speculates that it is simply a bunch of bluster by a couple of tech titans well-versed in social media discourse. But UFC president Dana White insists that both men told him they seriously want to fight each other. So he is pursuing as if it were real. And why not?
