After a reasonably disastrous outing Saturday, William Knight has responded to his critics – and those still backing him. Knight (11-5 MMA, 3-4 UFC) lost for the third straight time when he was swept on the scorecards by Marcin Prachnio (16-6 MMA, 3-4 UFC) in their light heavyweight bout on the UFC Fight Night 219 main card in Las Vegas. Knight was a slight favorite heading into the fight, but was dominated by Prachnio, particularly in the standup game. Prachnio landed kicks to Knight’s left leg at will and outstruck him 79-8 overall in the fight. The live broadcast team on ESPN+ seemed perplexed by Knight’s strategy in the fight, as were the post-fight desk analysts.

LAS VEGAS – William Knight wants Carlos Ulberg after UFC Fight Night 219. Knight and Ulberg have gone back-and-forth on social media, and Knight hopes that fight gets booked. In June 2022, Ulberg picked up a first-round TKO of Tafon Nchukwi, who stopped Knight at CFFC 80 in 2019. But first, Knight (11-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) needs to get past Marcin Prachnio (15-6 MMA, 2-4 UFC) on Saturday’s main card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card streams on ESPN+

Marcin Prachnio happy William Knight matchup was rebooked for UFC Fight Night 219

LAS VEGAS – Marcin Prachnio wanted to keep his matchup with William Knight intact. Prachnio and Knight were scheduled to fight at UFC Fight Night 215 this past November, but Knight withdrew. Prachnio was offered a short-notice opponent, but turned down the opportunity because it was a different style than what he’d been preparing for in Knight.

The lineup for the UFC’s final card before a short late fall hiatus continues to grow with the addition of a light heavyweight bout. William Knight (11-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) on Thursday announced a matchup for UFC Fight Night 215 against Marcin Prachnio (15-6 MMA, 2-4 UFC). The UFC has not yet made a formal announcement of the bout for the card, which takes place Nov. 19 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and streams on ESPN+. Knight will be looking to get back in the win column after back-to-back losses.

UFC on ESPN 34 video: Devin Clark floors William Knight with nasty elbow-punch combo

Devin Clark had plenty to handle, but in the end he delivered. A traditional light heavyweight, Clark put away a much larger William Knight , who bulked up for his official heavyweight debut. It was an impressive finish to close out the preliminary card of UFC on ESPN 34 as Clark (13-6 MMA, 7-6 UFC) scored a knockout over Knight (11-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) at the 3:21 mark of Round 3. Knight entered the bout with almost a 30-pound advantage. Clark was out-muscled early but rallied back to turn the tide and get a late stoppage win. William Knight will stick around at heavyweight at least a little bit longer. At UFC on ESPN 34 , Knight (11-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) will take on Devin Clark (12-6 MMA, 6-6 UFC) in a three-round heavyweight bout. The event takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and airs on ESPN/ESPN+. Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking Thursday, but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Knight, 33, competed at heavyweight in his most recent outing, a split decision loss to Maxim Grishin at UFC 271 in February. However, the elevation up a division was a bit unexpected, as Knight missed the light heavyweight limit by 12 pounds .

HOUSTON – William Knight missed big on the scale Friday, so much so his UFC 271 bout was bumped up a weight class. Originally scheduled to take on Maxim Grishin at light heavyweight Saturday, Knight (11-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) missed the 206-pound divisional limit by 12 pounds when he stepped on the scale.
