Ramazan Kuramagomedov is finally set for his return to action when he meets an ex-UFC fighter. Kuramagomedov (8-0) takes on William Macario (11-5) at UAE Warriors 22, which takes place Sept. 4 at Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Abu Dhabi. North American fans will be able to watch the event on The Fight Network. Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Kuramagomedov, a Dana White’s Contender Series alum, is unbeaten in his pro MMA career.

UFC vets Josh Burkman, William Macario meet in LFA 66 co-main event

A pair of UFC veterans will square off in a welterweight fight when LFA returns to Utah next month. Josh Burkman (28-17) is set to take on William Macario (9-4) in the LFA 66 co-main event, the promotion today announced. LFA 66 takes place May 10 at Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah, near Salt Lake City. The main card airs on AXS TV. “I am excited to announce that Utah MMA pioneer and longtime UFC star Josh Burkman will return to action in the co-main event of LFA 66,” LFA CEO Ed Soares stated. “Burkman made his pro debut in Utah over 16 years ago and has gone on to become one of the most successful and respected fighters in the state’s impressive combat sports history.” Burkman went 6-12 over two tenures with the UFC.

William Macario will compete on Friday’s LFA 47 card. However, that was very close to not being the case. Macario (9-3) has been waiting more than three years to get back to fighting for a U.S.-based organization. He gets his shot in a welterweight bout against Ramiz Brahimaj (6-1) at LFA 47, but the lead-up to the bout hasn’t exactly been an ideal one for the Brazilian. According to Macario, 27, his entire fight week routine was thrown off by a delay in his travel to Dallas. It all stemmed from an issue involving his passport.

But as he notched his fifth win of 2014, Magny (13-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) proved again that he’s not afraid of a little hard work, which went a long way to earning him a TKO victory over Macario (7-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) due to punches from the mount at 2:40 of Round 3. The welterweight bout closed out the preliminary card of today’s UFC 179 event at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of the main card on pay-per-view. Magny (12-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC) has been booked for a welterweight bout against William Macario (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at UFC 179 next month. In addition, the card has added a lightweight fight between Fabricio Camoes (14-8-1 MMA, 1-3-1 UFC) and Josh Shockley (11-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC).

Tim Means replaces William Macario, meets Neil Magny at UFC Fight Night 40

Another Legacy FC fighter has received a ticket to the UFC. Or, in Tim Means ‘ case, a return ticket to the UFC. UFC officials today announced Means (20-5-1) has replaced William Macario (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and will meet fellow welterweight Neil Magny (9-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) next month at UFC Fight Night 40.
