Wilson Reis is among five new long-term additions to the Cage Warriors roster. Reis (25-12) a former UFC flyweight title challenger, has signed an exclusive deal with the London-based promotion. Along with Reis, Cage Warriors has signed former Bellator fighter Gavin Hughes (10-3), Festus Ahorlu (5-1), Orlando Prins (3-1) and Bogdan Barbu (17-13) to multifight deals, the promotion announced Friday. No matchups or date were announced for any of the fighters with new deals

Nearly two full years after the promotion’s debut event, Ares Fighting Championship is gearing up for its return. Led by MMA Factory Paris head coach Fernand Lopez, Ares FC 2 is set for Dec. 11 at Palais des sports Marcel-Cerdan in Paris. The card will stream via Gigson Live . In the night’s main event, Frenchman Taylor Lapilus takes on 14-year veteran Wilson Reis . Lapilus was released from the UFC following a 3-1 run with the promotion and is now hoping to make his way back to the sport’s leading organization.

Reis (23-10 MMA), a former UFC flyweight title challenger, has signed with Afro-French MMA organization ARES FC, the promotion announced Tuesday. Elias Theodorou, Wilson Reis among cuts to UFC’s roster

A popular Canadian “Ultimate Fighter” winner and a former title challenger are among four recent cuts to the UFC’s roster. Elias Theodorou , Wilson Reis , Marcelo Golm and Eric Shelton have been released by the promotion. A UFC official today confirmed the news to MMA Junkie after an initial report by Brazilian MMA media outlet Combate.com . Theodorou (16-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC), a middleweight, had won three straight fights and five of his past six before a decision loss to Derek Brunson earlier this month at UFC on ESPN+ 8 in Canada. Before that setback, Theodorou had decision wins over Dan Kelly, Trevor Smith and Eryk Anders to bounce back from a loss to Brad Tavares in July 2017. Before that, he had back-to-back wins over Sam Alvey and Cezar Ferreira to get back in the win column after the first loss of his pro career, a decision loss to Thiago Santos in December 2015

The flyweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 236 event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. It aired on ESPN following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ESPN+ and ahead of the main card on pay-per-view. Pantoja was patient to open, studying from distance while Reis shuffled his hands and swayed side to side. Pantoja did his best to use kicks from range, but Reis eventually pressed forward behind punches and brought his opponent to the floor
