David Branch Fighters competing at this past weekend’s WSOF 30 event made as much as $130,000 and as little as $500. MMAjunkie recently requested and received the list of disclosed paydays from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. WSOF 30 took place this past Saturday, April 2, at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Rashad Evans MMAjunkie Radio kicks off at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT) with guests Rashad Evans , Cub Swanson and Joey Varner. Evans and Swanson both have fights coming up next week on the UFC on FOX 19 card in Tampa, Fla. Evans, a former light heavyweight champion, takes on former title challenger Glover Teixeira in the co-main event. Swanson returns after an injury layoff of a year and will try to snap his two-fight featherweight skid against Hacran Dias on the preliminary card.

Following Fitch’s (28-7-1) dominant sweep of Joao Zeferino (20-8)in Saturday’s WSOF 30 co-main event to win the vacant 170-pound belt, WSOF President Ray Sefo said the new champion will meet Jake Shields (31-8-1) for his first test as a champion. The interesting thing there is that Fitch and Shields were supposed to meet for the vacant title on Saturday already.

It wasn’t, though – all three judges gave the light heavyweight fight to Magalhaes (14-7), leaving “The Honey Bear” (9-5) to wonder what more he could’ve done to steal a win. When the judges’ scorecards were read at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, it was Azaitar (12-1-1) who took a unanimous decision from Davis Jr. (11-11-1) with a trio of 29-28 scores – much to the dismay of Davis Jr.

Against Joao Zeferino (20-8) in the WSOF 30 co-main event, Fitch (28-7-1) was a vintage version of what got him to the fight, grinding out the Brazilian with constant pressure for a perfect 50-45 sweep of the judges’ scorecards. The co-main event aired on NBCSN after prelims on MMAjunkie.

David Branch David Branch has made a home in the WSOF cage, capturing both the middleweight and light heavyweight titles in the promotion. Branch defended the 185-pound strap in the main event of WSOF 30 with a unanimous decision victory over Clifford Starks . WSOF 30 took place from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The main card aired on NBCSN following prelims on MMAjunkie. It appeared that the fight could be heading toward controversy as Branch (18-3) landed an illegal knee to the head of Starks (13-3) while he was on the ground late in Round 2.
