Michelle Waterson (12-3) vowed to become the first to stop Yasuko Tamada (15-9-3), and in her first Invicta FC atomweight title defense, she lived up to the promise with a third-round TKO win . Tamada previously went 26 fights without a stoppage loss, but “The Karate Hottie” put an end to the streak with a dominant showing in Saturday’s Invicta FC 8 main event at Kansas City, Mo.’s Municipal Auditorium. The fight headlined the organization’s debut on UFC Fight Pass, but unfortunately, some streaming issues cast a shadow over Waterson’s one-sided performance. With Invicta FC 8, which features a championship doubleheader, the organization makes its debut on the UFC Fight Pass digital network. After hosting seven events in 2012 and 2013, Invicta holds its first event of 2014, and it comes after it struck an alliance with the UFC. Veteran AXS TV broadcaster Michael Schiavello and Invicta FC matchmaker Julie Kedzie call the action, which kicks off at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) on UFC Fight Pass.
