You can watch a live stream of the event, in which July 17 will be declared “Chris Weidman Day.” Today’s ceremony takes place at Long Island’s Coral House. County executive Edward Mangano and other officials will be on hand for the festivities. The ceremony follows Weidman’s July 6 upset of longtime titleholder Anderson Silva at UFC 162. In the pay-per-view headliner, Weidman capitalized on Silva’s taunting and clowning after connecting on a fight-altering left hook early in the second round. It halted Silva’s 17-fight win streak and string of 10 consecutive UFC title defenses.
