Mike De La Torre SEOUL – Mike De La Torre battered and bloodied Yui Chul Nam for three full rounds, but just couldn’t put him away. With a cut over one eye and the other swollen shut, Nam (18-6-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC) kept marching gamely forward, but De La Torre (14-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC) consistently beat him to the punch and stonewalled his many takedown attempts, earning De La Torre the split-decision victory by scores of 29-28, 28-29 and 29-28. The featherweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 79 event at Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul.

UFC Fight Night 66 results: Phillipe Nover returns to UFC to split win over Yui Chul Nam

Philippe Nover PASAY, Philippines – The journey to Philipe Nover ’s first UFC victory began in 2008 and ended today in the Philippines with a split decision victory over Yui Chul Nam . The featherweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 66 event at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. With Nam (18-5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) a danger on the feet, Nover quickly looked to get the fight to the floor. Nover (11-5-1 MMA, 1-3 UFC) drove Nam to the cage and worked to get the fight fully to the floor with Nam sitting upright against the cage. Nam worked back to his feet but Nover stuck to him and continued to try for takedowns against the cage before picking Nam up and slamming him to the mat

Now he gets a second chance. Nover (10-5-1 MMA, 0-3 UFC) has booked a return to the promotion for a fight against Yui Chul Nam (18-4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 66 in the Philippines.

TUF China Finale bonuses: Kim and Mitrione pick up ‘Performance’ awards

Nam and Tokudome earned the “Fight of the Night” honors, and Kim and Mitrione each won “Performance of the Night” awards. UFC officials announced the winners at the post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended

TUF China Finale results: Yui Chul Nam takes split from Kazuki Tokudome in thriller

MACAU – If it was a one-round fight, Yui Chul Nam would have won in a landslide. Unfortunately for him, Kazuki Tokudome survived the first five minutes and made him really work for it. After a dominant first round for “The Korean Bulldozer,” he was largely in survival mode in the second and third on his way to a split-decision win over Tokudome.
