Filed under: Featured , News , UFC It’s been two whole weeks since UFC fans have plunked down for some sanctioned violence, and the promotion’s return offering isn’t exactly a warm embrace. To get a little flowery, UFC 179 is a top-heavy pay-per-view offering flecked with underlings of interest. Or to put it another way, some of its bouts seem better suited to a UFC Fight Night card than a $49.95-er. Make no mistake, the UFC featherweight title rematch between champ Jose Aldo  and Chad Mendes  feels like the do-over that’s had the right amount of time to percolate. Although dominant, Aldo’s reign is a bit stale. He needs someone to push him to the limit, and Mendes feels like the right guy to do that this second time around.
