With Khabib Nurmagomedov (26-0 MMA, 10-0 UFC) set to put his 155-pound title on the line against Conor McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) in the headlining bout, there’s discussion about who is truly the best fighter in the weight class. According to former titleholder Pettis (21-7 MMA, 8-6 UFC), who meets Tony Ferguson (23-3 MMA, 13-1 UFC) in the co-main event, Nurmagomedov is the best fighter in the division. However, that doesn’t mean he thinks “The Eagle” will defend. “Khabib (is the best lightweight),” Pettis said at a UFC 229 media event today at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas
