The Bellator 98 weigh-ins have been completed from The Cabaret Theater inside the Mohegan Sun Casino in preparation for Bellator MMA’s September 7th event, which will feature a Bellator Middleweight World Title Fight and the opening rounds of the Season 9 Bellator Middleweight Tournament. Andreas Spang was originally scheduled to compete in the Middleweight Tournament, but was deemed ineligible to compete by the provisionary commission. Brennan Ward will now face Justin Torrey in the opening round of the Middleweight Tournament. Joe Warren, who was originally slated to face Nick Kirk in a Batnamweight Tournament Semifinal bout, was removed from the card prior to weigh-ins due to concerns triggered by his medical paperwork.
