Thomas Gifford has a new opponent for Saturday night. On a mere four days’ notice, Mike Davis (7-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will step in to take on Gifford (17-8 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in what will be both fighters’ sophomore UFC contests. A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie after an initial report from UFC broadcast partner ESPN . Gifford will replace “Dana White’s Contender Series” signee Brok Weaver, who was removed from the card earlier this week for unknown reasons.
