Stipe Miocic became just the eighth of 19 UFC heavyweight champions to make a successful title defense when he defeated Alistair Overeem in Saturday’s UFC 203 main event. Miocic (16-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) rallied from a early knockdown to stop Overeem (41-15, 6-4 UFC) by first-round knockout with the help of a brutal onslaught of ground strikes , beginning his title reign on a high. The UFC’s first event at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland provided several notable results outside of the pay-per-view headliner.
