Filed under: Featured Videos , News , UFC LAS VEGAS – Vicente Luque wants to fight in his hometown of Brasilia, Brazil, on Sept. 24 after scoring his second consecutive octagon victory at UFC Fight Night 90. Luque (9-5-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) put his ground skills to work in his welterweight bout with Alvaro Herrera (9-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC), which took place Thursday on the UFC Fight Pass-streamed preliminary card at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. He was hoping for a standup fight, but when his opponent showed resistance in that area, he reverted to a position where he knew he would be more dominant and got the submission ( ). “I wish I could’ve knocked out, I’m a striker and that’s what I go out there for, but the kid was tough,” Luque told reporters after the fight. “So I took it to the ground.
