The fight promotion not only holds the bulk of its events there; it’s also called the city home for nearly two decades, which created the sort of connection that led to an unusual scene at the start of the UFC 216 pay-per-view card at T-Mobile Arena. After a video intro from UFC President Dana White encouraging strength and unity in the wake of last Sunday’s horrific shooting, the UFC welcomed first responders and victims into the cage as special guests.
