Brad Pickett defeated Neil Seery by unanimous decision in their main-card fight at UFC Fight Night 37 in London on Saturday night. Pickett and Seery engaged in an entertaining stand-up war, but it was Pickett who worked the takedowns to his advantage for the judges’ decision with scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28. After some heated exchanges, Serry landed a significant left hook that shook his opponent. Pickett recovered and later secured a double-leg takedown to bring the fight to the floor. An arm triangle by Pickett was nearly locked on when he worked to half guard, but Seery recovered full guard and worked back to the feet before the end of the opening round. The fighters began the second round swinging for the fences, engaging in exchanges at a high rate for a large part of the first two minutes.
