Masvidal (32-11 MMA, 9-4 UFC) stopped Cerrone (32-8 MMA, 19-5 UFC) with a second-round TKO – though Cerrone was saved by the bell in the first round, delaying the inevitable. “Gamebred” nearly stopped “Cowboy” at the end of the first – and some believed he actually did, though referee Herb Dean ruled he was stopping the action because of the first-round horn, not saving Cerrone from more damage. But Masvidal picked right back up in the second round to knock Cerrone out a minute in.
