The scene, on the surface, was a celebration between a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt – Curran (no relation to Kailin) – and a student he has worked with to do precisely what she did: get opponents to tap out. But it also was about something else, something personal for Herrig (11-6 MMA, 2-1 UFC)
