ANAHEIM, Calif. – Casey Kenney is looking to become a UFC bantamweight contender, and he thinks he’s doing all the right things to make that happen going into UFC 241. Kenney (12-1-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC), a former two-division champion under the LFA banner, was successful in his short-notice UFC debut earlier this year when he beat former flyweight title challenger Ray Borg. He draws Manny Bermudez (14-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) for his sophomore octagon appearance, and he likes how his career is shaking out thus far. “I think it’s definitely a step in the right direction to where I want to go,” Kenney told MMA Junkie at UFC 241 media day. “I’m looking to become a bantamweight contender and why not take out one of the undefeated guys?” Related UFC 241 media day faceoffs video: No Nate Diaz, but it's all good UFC 241 prelims pre-event facts: Devonte Smith looks to continue quick KO streak Kenney held LFA belts at bantamweight and flyweight. He had fought more often at 125 pounds, but said he thinks fighting at 135 pounds is better for his future prospects because one division is flourishing while the other is surrounded by uncertainty.
