Diego Lopes took some damage in his UFC 314 featherweight championship loss to Alexander Volkanovski on April 12. Lopes (26-7) and Volkanovski (27-4) went the distance with the vacant 145-pound championship on the line inside Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Volkanovski became a two-time featherweight champion winning via unanimous decision. The bout was competitive with Lopes knocking “The Great” down late in the second round.
