Three of MMA’s top female featherweights found a new home with one of the sport’s largest promotions this month. Bellator MMA, which dissolved its women’s divisions in March 2013, recently announced the signings of former top Invicta FC contenders Marloes Coenen and Julia Budd . The 145-pound standouts will face off in the Bellator cage later this year. Under the new leadership of former Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker and matchmaker Rich Chou, who had great success promoting female fighters including Coenen (21-6) and Budd (6-2) under the Strikeforce banner, Bellator has renewed its commitment to promoting women in MMA.
