To say Eddie Alvarez’ s tenure with ONE Championship has been disappointing wouldn’t be a stretch. After all, the former UFC and Bellator lightweight champion has just one win in four appearances since his promotional debut in March 2019. Alvarez, 38, has been inactive since April 2021, which was a weird month for him. Against Iuri Lapicus, Alvarez was disqualified after just 62 seconds for throwing punches to the back of the head in a fight he was dominating; the fight was later ruled a no contest after Alvarez appealed. Three weeks later, Alvarez was back in action but lost a unanimous decision against Ok Rae Yoon in an epic brawl. Fifteen months later, Alvarez (30-8) is still waiting for his next fight
