LAS VEGAS – Mike Perry didn’t endear himself to fans with his fake handshake offer at the pre-fight weigh-ins, but he gave them something to cheer about with a first-round knockout of Hyun Guy Lim. After dropping Lim (13-6-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC) twice with hard right hands, a left hook from Perry (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) sealed the deal, leading to a stoppage victory at the 3:38 mark of Round 1. The welterweight bout was part of today’s UFC 202 main card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass. Perry began this fight with clear questions as to how he would close the physical gap against the much taller Lim, but once the leather started flying, it didn’t seem to be too vexing a problem for the smaller man. After thumping Lim with leg kicks early, Perry expertly timed a right hand to counter Lim’s uppercut, putting him down and nearly out with one big blow.
