Ryo Chonan will be given the opportunity to win the Deep welterweight belt in his retirement bout, when he takes on reigning champion Dan Hornbuckle on Oct. 20 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Chonan (21-13) has fought for Pride and the UFC and is one of only five fighters to ever defeat Anderson Silva, but his last bout will under the banner of the promotion where he has competed for the majority of his career, when he headlines Deep – Tribe Tokyo. At stake will be the welterweight strap, which Hornbuckle (24-6) won by beating Yuya Shirai by unanimous decision in April
