Former interim lightweight champion  Dustin Poirier announced that UFC 318 would be his last fight before the bout against ‘BMF’ titleholder  Max Holloway was booked. He made that walk out inside Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Saturday to a standing ovation.  The fight against Holloway was a trilogy bout with Poirier winning the first two. Holloway got one back, defeating “The Diamond” via unanimous decision.
