It wasn’t very pretty, but Nick Newell took a unanimous decision against Tom Marcellino at WSOF 24 on Saturday night – and then unexpectedly walked away from the sport. Newell (13-1), a former WSOF lightweight title challenger and former XFC lightweight champion, announced his retirement following his win over Marcellino in a fight he admitted afterward wasn’t his best performance.
