The tournament matchups are set for Rizin FF’s Dec. 29 event, which continues the Japanese promotion’s world openweight grand prix, and some familiar names are featured in the quarterfinal round. The event, Rizin FF 3, takes place at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Two days later, on New Year’s Eve, the semifinal round and tournament final take place at the same venue as part of Rizin FF 4. As previously announced, one Rizin FF 3 tournament matchup includes MMA legends and big-show vets Mirko Filipovic (32-11-2) vs. Wanderlei Silva (35-12). Additionally, former UFC interim champion Shane Carwin (12-2), who hasn’t fought since 2011, takes on follow striker Amir Aliakbari (3-0)
