Masvidal (30-11 MMA, 7-4 UFC), who outpointed Ross Pearson (29-12 MMA, 6-5 UFC) to snap a two-fight skid on the FS2 prelims at Philips Arena in Atlanta, said he wanted to face Matt Brown (20-15 MMA, 13-9 UFC) over Ellenberger (31-11 MMA, 9-8 UFC) because “he’s (mean-mugging) wherever he goes; I just want to show him he’s not as tough as he thinks he is.” But then Ellenberger stopped Brown with a kick to the body on the pay-per-view main card, in the process halting a 1-5 skid that most certainly would have led to a pink slip had the fight gone the other way. Ellenberger on Monday told MMAjunkie Radio he was watching the Masvidal vs. Pearson fight and liked what he saw. “He’s tough,” Ellenberger said of Masvidal. “He’s got some skills.
