With the loss of the title fight , the event went from UFC 196 on pay-per-view to UFC Fight Night 82 on FOX Sports 1. In what is now the main event, former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks matches up against Stephen Thompson . The last time Hendricks was scheduled to fight, he ended up in the emergency room after a bad weight cut. Things went much better for Thompson in his last scheduled bout, where he knocked out Jake Ellenberger in the first round , winning a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. In the co-main event, heavyweights Roy Nelson and Jared Rosholt meet in a fight that is some classic striker vs. wrestler matchmaking. But that’s not all.
