The UFC’s November return to Australia has taken shape with the addition of five fights. All five of the bouts now made for UFC Fight Night 55 feature fighters from Australia and nearby New Zealand. New Zealand-born Robert Whittaker (12-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) will meet Clint Hester (11-3 MMA, 4-0 UFC) at middleweight; in a heavyweight bout, Australia’s Soa Palelei (21-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) takes on Daniel Omielanczuk (16-4-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC); Australia’s Jake Matthews (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) meets the returning Vagner Rocha (11-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) at lightweight. In addition, New Zealand’s Dylan Andrews (17-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC) drops to welterweight to meet Sam Alvey (23-6 MMA, 0-1 UFC); and Australia’s Vik Grujic (7-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is paired against Chris Clements (11-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at welterweight. UFC officials announced the six bouts following a tickets on-sale news conference for UFC Fight Night 55, which takes place Nov. 8 at Allphones Arena in Sydney.
