And “bit of” might be an understatement, given he was dominated by Rafael dos Anjos to lose his UFC 155-pound title in March 2015, then had two more losses on top of that for a three-fight skid. That those losses came on the heels of him becoming something of a poster boy for the UFC by becoming its first athlete to appear on a Wheaties box probably added insult to injury. It meant he not only was struggling in the cage, but soon outside of it, as well – in part thanks to the always ready-to-pounce keyboard warriors on social media wondering if he was a fraud.
