Filed under: News , UFC , Videos NEW YORK – After accomplishing his dream of becoming the first simultaneous two-weight world champion under the UFC banner, Conor McGregor is setting his sights higher than ever. McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) captured the UFC lightweight championship to accompany his already existing featherweight strap when he scored a second-round knockout of Eddie Alvarez (28-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in Saturday’s headliner at Madison Square Garden in New York. It’s an aspiration McGregor laid out from the early stages of his UFC career, and along the way he’s turned into arguably the most notable fighter and biggest star the sport has ever seen.
