Alexander Shlemenko There was a time very recently when former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko  thought he was a welterweight. It was just before his most recent appearance in the Viacom-owned promotion, a meeting this past September with Brandon Halsey. “I was very close to changing my weight category,” Shlemenko (50-9 MMA, 11-3 BMMA), who next fights Melvin Manhoef (29-12-1 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) at Bellator 133, told MMAjunkie Radio via translator. “Because before the fight, I weighed like 189 pounds.” There was a reason he was a little lighter than usual – and, perhaps, a little less strong
