Just hours after UFC officials announced  Alptekin Ozkilic was out of his UFC Fight Night 39 bout with  Dustin Ortiz due to injury, “The Turkish Delight” has come forward with an explanation. “It’s a rib injury,” Ozkilic told MMAjunkie. “It happened on Saturday. I didn’t really feel anything when I was training, but once I started cooling down it started sticking. “I took Sunday off, Monday off, got back in on Tuesday and it wasn’t healing. It’s something where I know it will heal in a few weeks if I take it off, but it was just bad timing because obviously this is the time I can’t take off.” Upon realizing he would be unfit to compete at the April 11 event in Abu Dhabi, Ozkilic informed UFC officials that he would be forced to withdraw from the card.
