Anderson Silva downplays injury scare ahead of UFC 183

Anderson Silva After a small scare, Anderson Silva  says his leg and back are 100 percent and there’s no cause for concern ahead of his UFC 183 showdown with Nick Diaz. Less than three months ahead of Silva’s (33-6 MMA, 16-2 UFC) highly anticipated Jan. 31 pay-per-view headliner with Diaz (26-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC), “The Spider” was hospitalized with back pain earlier this month in Brazil. However, doctors observed him for just a brief period before ultimately releasing him. While back injuries are a serious matter, especially for a pro fighter, Silva downplayed the situation when asked about it at Monday’s “ UFC: The Time Is Now ” press conference in Las Vegas.
