There’s apparently no need to panic about Anderson Silva ‘s return in January being in danger. The personal doctor of the former UFC middleweight champ, who for years was regarded as the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter, on Tuesday said Silva’s Monday hospitalization for a back injury had nothing to do with his previous surgery for a severely broken leg. “He has felt this pain before,” Dr. Marcio Tannure, Silva’s doctor, told UFC.com . “It has nothing to do with the surgery.” Silva (33-6 MMA, 16-2 UFC) is scheduled to headline UFC 183 on Jan. 31 against former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz (26-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC) in a middleweight bout
