Anthony Johnson Anthony Johnson ’s destruction of Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC on FOX 14 derailed one of the most anticipated fights in the UFC, the rematch between Gustafsson and UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones – but replaced it with a bout at least as intriguing. “Rumble” will now get the opportunity to fight for Jones’ title in a bout that seemed almost unthinkable just three years ago. Johnson’s career seemed to completely unravel at UFC 142 when weight struggles followed him up to middleweight. After missing weight by a stunning 11 pounds, Johnson was submitted by Vitor Belfort in the first round and subsequently released from the promotion. Johnson (19-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) would go on to find a second chance at life in the sport through a move up to light heavyweight.
