Eduardo Dantas knocked out friend and mentor Marcos Galvao when they met at Bellator 89. Tonight, in the main event of Bellator 156, he couldn’t finish the fight, but took the bantamweight title with five rounds of one-sided violence. The event took place at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. The main card aired on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie. After a tentative first round drew boos from the crowd, Dantas (18-4 MMA, 8-2 BMMA) tried to open Round 2 with a heavy spinning backfist
