Filed under: Bellator , News Patricio Freire continued to etch his mark in the Bellator history books on Friday when he defeated Daniel Straus to claim the featherweight title for the second time in his career in the Bellator 178 headliner. Freire (26-4 MMA, 14-4 BMMA) took a 3-1 lead in his lengthy rivalry with Straus (24-7 MMA, 11-4 BMMA) courtesy of a second-round submission victory in the Spike-televised main event Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., pushing “Pitbull” into the all-time lead for most wins in Bellator history.
