Veteran heavyweight Roy Nelson got a run for his money against Jay Ayala in his Bellator debut. So he fell back on his grappling to take home the win. When Nelson (23-14 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) got too much guff from Ayala (10-6 MMA, 5-3 BMMA) on the feet, he nabbed takedowns and dominated on top. The strategy left a lasting impression on scorecards, earning him scores of 30-26, 29-28 and 29-28.
