Bellator completed its weekend of back-to-back events on Saturday with Bellator 228, which took place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., with a main card that streamed on DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie. The main event saw former Bellator middleweight champ Gegard Mousasi (46-7-2 MMA, 4-1 BMMA) avenge his 2014 loss to Lyoto Machida (26-9 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) with a competitive but somewhat underwhelming split decision. The fight followed four featherweight grand prix matchups, which helped determine the quarterfinal bouts set to begin in December.
