Ed Ruth It may be a while before we’ll see him in the cage, but Bellator MMA has signed a standout wrestler and Olympic hopeful. Ed Ruth  (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), a Penn State product, has inked a multi-fight deal with the promotion, Bellator announced today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, nor was an approximation for Ruth’s MMA debut – though it’s not expected to come until after his run at a gold medal in the 2016 Olympic Games. The 25-year-old currently is working toward next year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and assuming he makes the U.S. team, he’s expected to compete for a medal in the 86-kilogram (190 pounds) division.
