So what is the key to their current success? “We beat each other up in a healthy way,” Blackzilians head striking coach Henri Hooft said. “We beat each other up to get better.” Currently featured on “The Ultimate Fighter 21″ in competition with their cross-town Southern Florida rivals at American Top Team, the Blackzilians team was formed in 2011 when former ATT fighters Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante, Jorge Santiago, Danillo Villefort and Yuri Villefort decided to leave the team and start a new squad. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans  quickly moved to the new camp, as well, and has been instrumental in establishing the culture of the Blackzilians. “We wanted to have a team where it’s a fun environment, and at the same time a family-oriented environment where your opponent actually cares how you’re feeling that day instead of trying to knock your block off and destroy you.
