Paige VanZant When retired middleweight turned UFC commentator Brian Stann  needed to pick the UFC’s next star for 2015, one name stood out pretty quick: Paige VanZant . It was easy for Stann to see why women’s strawweight VanZant (4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC), who at Saturday’s UFC on FOX 15 meets Felice Herrig (10-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC), could be the biggest face on a poster. “I called her first fight, and that was on a Fight Pass prelim against a woman that nobody knew about,” he told MMAjunkie Radio. “Paige was actually the underdog, and it was a grinding victory.” This past November, VanZant, 21, stopped fellow newcomer Kailin Curran via TKO in the third round in the second bout of UFC Fight Night 57, which was headlined by featherweights Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson.
