Carlos Condit In the sixth of a multi-part series for MMAjunkie, veteran MMA storyteller Duane Finley takes us inside Carlos Condit ’s UFC 195 camp as it winds down toward Saturday’s pay-per-view headliner. * * * * There is a row of trees high upon the ridge across the valley from where Carlos Condit is standing that seems to stretch out for miles. They bend and twist like some kind of natural phenomenon as their roots somehow managed to set and thrive in bed of red and gray slag rocks below. There are several small cabins scattered among the much more vibrant pines on the hillside that sits above Route 4, but even those houses seem miles away from where the man who could very well be the next welterweight king of the UFC is perched. The view that unfolds before his eyes is epic and made all the more memorable by the powder blue expanse overhead. From the expression on Condit’s face it is clear this is a scene he could certainly get used to, but there he comes up off of the porch rail to rub his beard, which is a tell that total satisfaction hasn’t quite been met
