Ali Abdelaziz According to WSOF CEO Carlos Silva, Ray Sefo is the matchmaker of record for the promotion – not Ali Abdelaziz. “In terms of a couple of things that have come out in the past couple of days about Ali, the only thing I can say is that he’s a very passionate and dedicated guy, and he’s been a big help here,” Silva told MMAjunkie. “Ray is our matchmaker, and he’s going to continue to be that, and Ali will continue to help us as he has with sales and business development on an ongoing fashion.” Recently, Abdelaziz’s role with WSOF has met with increasing scrutiny. Although Sefo is noted as the promotion’s matchmaker of record in Nevada, where the promotion is headquartered, a recently filed lawsuit, obtained by MMAjunkie, accused Abdelaziz of double-dealing as a manager and matchmaker in violation of the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s statute on conflict of interest.
