Filed under: Bellator , News , Videos Newly minted Bellator fighter Chael Sonnen got a little ahead of himself in announcing a fight with Tito Ortiz on Nov. 19 at Bellator 165. Bellator President Scott Coker today told MMAjunkie that the fight is likely to take place early next year and will headline a major event, though an exact date is still forthcoming. “I think it deserves to be its own card,” Coker said. “We just don’t want to rush it.” Sonnen (28-14-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) seemed to be in a hurry to book the fight with the UFC Hall of Famer and Bellator headliner when he announced his contract with the Viacom-owned promotion, saying it was part of the “legends ass-kicking tour” that brought him out of retirement after two years on the shelf.
