Filed under: News , UFC BOSTON – Conor McGregor  will, in fact, fight UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo , but the blockbuster fight won’t take place in a seemingly obvious location. UFC President Dana White recently explained why. Following the Irishman’s second-round destruction of Dennis Siver (22-10 MMA, 11-7 UFC) in Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 59 headliner, McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) was announced as the next title challenger for longtime featherweight titleholder Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC). However, while McGregor’s native Ireland and Aldo’s native Brazil were previously discussed as possible host sites, White confirmed after Sunday’s event that Las Vegas is likely to host the fight as part of UFC 187 , a pay-per-view offering scheduled for May 23.
