In picking up his first win of 2015 in February over Clayton MacFarlane at Bellator 133, welterweight Chris Honeycutt feels he set the tone for his year in addition to keeping his unblemished record. “I went into that fight very confident,” Honeycutt told MMAWeekly.com. “I wanted to showcase my hands in that fight, but the years of wrestling, it’s kind of hard to step into that pocket when you see wide open takedowns. “The biggest thing is I hope I can keep the fights coming now. My last three fights, I’ve had big breaks in between, so I hope to make the breaks smaller now.” While he might not have had the amount of fights he’d like, so far he has lived up to his credentials as a two-time College Division I All-American, and made the transition to MMA with aplomb.
