It’s no secret that American Kickboxing Academy head coach Javier Mendez rates Conor McGregor ’s skills highly. With UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov announcing his retirement in October, a pivotal main event between McGregor and Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 could determine who’s next in line for a title shot. Mendez helped Nurmagomedov prepare and beat both men, so he’s spent plenty of time studying tape on McGregor (22-4 MMA, 10-2 UFC) and Poirier (26-6 MMA, 18-5 UFC).
